A WEE PROBLEM… NETWORKING NERVOSUS
There’s a problem with networking, and one that is not really acknowledged. Networking, connecting, whatever you want to call it, requires meeting new people, socializing, making conversation, and herein lies the problem. Most people are uncomfortable—to some degree—doing this thing called networking. We regularly ask our seminar participants how many consider themselves good at the craft. It’s usually fewer than 10%. Then we ask, “How many people really enjoy networking?” Less than 20% put up their hands—80% don’t like to do it.

This is an astounding number given that networking is such an essential skill for both personal and business success.

They get stressed walking into a crowd of strangers
They prefer sitting at table with their ‘mates’
They break into a sweat at the thought of asking a question in a large group
They would rather be back at the office “doing something really important”—like sending more emails!

There is a cure for networking nervosus and it’s found in the easy 7 steps of the Network Dance, N.E.T.WO.R.K.™, and in the philosophy of Positive Networking.
